At Rathkeale & District Community Men’s Shed, giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do. This year, we were proud to play our part in Daffodil Day 2025, joining thousands across Ireland in raising vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
What is Daffodil Day?
Daffodil Day is an annual fundraising event held by the Irish Cancer Society to support people affected by cancer. Volunteers all over Ireland take to the streets, shopping centres, and communities to collect donations and raise awareness.
It’s a day filled with hope, solidarity, and the bright symbol of the daffodil—a flower that represents strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
Our Involvement
Our members volunteered their time to help with local fundraising collections in Rathkeale, proudly wearing their daffodil pins and engaging with the community.
It was more than just fundraising—it was a chance to show support, share stories, and stand in solidarity with friends, family members, and neighbours who have been affected by cancer.

Why It Matters
Cancer touches so many lives, including those within our own Men’s Shed community. Taking part in Daffodil Day is just one of the ways we can give something back, while also promoting awareness and compassion within Rathkeale.
We believe that small efforts lead to big impact – and that’s exactly what Daffodil Day is all about.
Thank You to Everyone Who Donated
A big thank you to everyone in Rathkeale who supported the cause, whether by donating, sharing a kind word, or simply stopping by for a chat. Your generosity makes a real difference.
