Exciting things are happening at Rathkeale & District Community Men’s Shed! Not only is our new floor well underway, but we’ve also been busy installing doors and creating new rooms to make the space even more functional for our members.
Over the past few weeks, our hardworking members have been measuring, cutting, hammering, and fitting as we transform our Shed into a comfortable and well-organized space. From laying down flooring to putting up walls and doors, it’s been a true team effort, filled with plenty of learning, problem-solving, and, of course, a bit of craic!
Building a Better Shed for Everyone
These improvements are a huge step forward for us. The addition of new rooms will give us more dedicated spaces for different activities, whether it’s woodworking, crafts, DIY projects, or just sitting down for a chat over a cuppa. With proper doors now in place, we’re also making the Shed warmer, more secure, and more inviting for everyone who walks through our doors.

To everyone who has contributed—whether through donations, time, or effort—we can’t thank you enough. Every improvement we make brings us closer to having a fully functional community space where men can come together to work, learn, and support one another.

As we continue to build and improve, we’re always looking for new faces to join us. If you’re a man aged 18 or over and want to be part of a great group, why not come along and get involved? Whether you enjoy hands-on work, sharing skills, or simply socializing, there’s a place for you at the Shed.
